OPEN EVENTS

Dear Parents and Carers

RE: OPEN EVENTS SEPTEMBER 2023 (Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students)

I hope you have had a lovely Summer and have enjoyed time with your families.

At this exciting stage in your child’s journey and with important decisions soon to be made regarding Secondary School choices, we would like to invite you to our Open Events at Callington Community College.

Open Evening
Wednesday 20 September (6pm – 8pm) – no need to book

Discover exactly what our school is like and what we can offer your family. Hear from our Principal, Mrs Wendy Ainsworth and meet our staff and students who are looking forward to welcoming you to the College. There will be an opportunity to:

  • Watch departmental demonstrations
  • Try some activities yourself
  • Watch a variety of College presentations
  • Ask any questions
  • See some of the many extra-curricular activities in action

Open Morning Tour
Thursday 21 September (9:15am – 10:30am) – to secure your place on this tour, please click here or visit the College website.

Why Visit?
A great deal can be learnt about a school by speaking to current parents and students you may know, reading a prospectus and visiting our website but nothing equals the value of a visit.

During the Open Morning Tours, you and your child will have the opportunity to see the College in full swing – bustling with activity and learning and experience the atmosphere. You will be welcomed by our Senior Team at 9:15am and given a tour of the College with staff and students where you will be able to visit lessons experiencing a little of what life is like for a student at Callington Community College. You are invited to join us for refreshments and will have an opportunity to speak with staff to ask any additional questions you may have. Students will also be on hand to give their views of the College. Students should attend in their primary school uniform and our partner primary schools will expect students to make their way back directly following the Open Morning Tours.

Parents, wherever you live and whichever school your child attends, you are most welcome to attend our Open Events. Should you be unable to make any of these events, please let us know. We will do our very best to accommodate visits for alternative dates and times that suit you.

We look forward to meeting you in September.

Best Wishes
Charlotte Campbell
Deputy Principal
