Schools National Trampoline Competition Finalists
Callington reach for the stars!
The National schools Trampoline Finals were held in Gateshead on Sunday 18 March and the finalists representing Callington Community College were Arran Stannard-Heap, Aiden Congdon and Dylan Rundle in the U14 Boys Novice and Rebecca Higgins in U19 girls Novice competitions.
The boys had a hard competition with schools such as Millfield and Kings to beat. They all did well and jumped with gusto. They finished 6th in the country and should be very proud considering they have only been jumping for about 9 months.
Arran, came 6th as an individual and that was even with an unlucky final landing where he touched the end of the bed allowing the judges to take off 2 whole points!
Last to jump was Rebecca who completed two fantastic routines to claim the Bronze.
All students involved should be very proud of their hard work, Callington has produced some fantastic sports stars!
Big thanks to Anne Dodds (Zero Gravity) for all her hard work in coaching and supporting the children and us parents who were as nervous as the children!! A big thank you to the school who supported the children.
Well done to all!
