Celebration Time For Sixth Form Students
Students and staff at Callington Community College have been rewarded for all their hard work, dedication and commitment over the past two years by securing excellent A level and Level 3 results.
This year’s cohort of students has once again performed superbly, and for many of the students it is a fitting end to their time at the College. They will now look forward with excitement in pursuing the next step of their young lives.
All students who have applied to Higher Education are in the process of accepting their chosen institution and course. Students successfully completed their qualifications with the vast majority achieving a grade A*-C. Students entered for Level 3 vocational qualifications all passed their qualifications with over 80% of grades being awarded a Distinction* or Distinction.
Congratulations must go to all students in recognising their many achievements both inside and outside of the classroom. The students have embraced every aspect of Sixth Form life and have been superb role models to the younger students and the wider community. Many students have successfully completed additional qualifications such as Level 3 EPQ, Level 3 Core Mathematics, Higher Sports Leaders Award (HSLA) and First Aid in addition to giving up their time to help run College clubs, support younger students, volunteer within the community, support curriculum areas as well as being involved in College productions, music shows, sporting events, work placements and enrichment week.
The majority of students will travel the width and breadth of the country over the coming months to continue their studies at university. Students have been successful in securing places at Loughborough University, Bath Spa University, Reading University, Brighton University, York University, University of West London, Kingston University, Cardiff University, Derby University, Birmingham University, Manchester University, Southampton University, Portsmouth University, Brunel University and more closer to home, Plymouth University, Falmouth University and Exeter University.

Director of Sixth Form, Alan Yendell commented ‘The College is really proud of the students achievements, they have all shown a great deal of commitment and dedication over the past two years to successfully complete their qualifications whilst also accessing the many opportunities that our College provides them to enrich themselves as a young person. This has certainly contributed to the amazing offers they have received from top universities and employers as they now take the next steps towards their personal and career aspirations. I would like to personally thank the students for all their efforts and hard work but also recognise the amazing support our teachers and staff have given them to help them become successful young adults. This group of students have been an honour to work with and they have been a credit to themselves, their families and the College. We wish every single one of them the very best in their futures’.
