Celebration Time For Callington Community College Sixth Form Students

Students and staff at Callington Community College have been rewarded for all their hard work, dedication and commitment over the past two years by securing outstanding A level results.

This year’s cohort of students has once again performed superbly, and for many of the students it is a fitting end to their time at the College. They will now look forward with excitement in pursuing the next step of their young lives.

The key headlines are as follows:

  • An improvement in the proportion of students securing higher grades, with the biggest improvement in the proportion of A*/A grades.
  • The majority of subjects have seen a significant improvement in their outcomes
  • 99% of students entered for A Level qualifications have successfully passed
  • All vocational students entered successfully passed their qualifications with over 80% of grades being awarded a Distinction* or Distinction
  • The average grade at A Level has risen by the equivalent of half a grade compared to last year’s outcomes.
  • All students who have applied to Higher Education have been accepted into their first choice institution and on their preferred course.

Congratulations must go to all students in recognising their many achievements both inside and outside of the classroom. The students have embraced every aspect of sixth form life and have been superb role models to the younger students and the wider community. Many students have successfully completed additional qualifications such as Level 3 EPQ, Higher Sports Leaders Award (HSLA) and First Aid in addition to giving up their time to help run College clubs, support younger students, volunteer within the community, support curriculum areas as well as being involved in College productions, music shows, sporting events and Challenge Week.
