PSHEE and Citizenship

Head of Department: Mr E Davis

PSHEE and Citizenship seeks to prepare students at Callington Community College to become informed, engaged and active participants in modern British and global society. We also seek to equip students with the vital decision making and critical thinking skills needed to make safe and informed choices and decisions.

Students participate in PSHEE and Citizenship lessons throughout Year 7 to Year 11. Students’ progress is measured against a range of differentiated learning outcomes within each area of study and also against a set of key skills and attributes. These include communication, empathy, collaboration and preparation.

PSHEE and Citizenship maintains links with a number of external support agencies, who support and enhance students’ experiences and development within the subject. Some of the organisations we are connected to include:

Devon and Cornwall Police, Brook, Liskeard Breathers, Clear- Healthy Relationships, Young and Yourself, The Red Cross and Parliament Education Outreach
