Young Americans
Callington Community College has once again agreed to be part of an exciting project involving the international company called the ‘Young Americans’. They will be working with our secondary students and local primary students from March 13th – 15th March 2015. ‘The Young Americans’ are an experienced company of American students aged between 18 and 22 who travel the world creating musical performances with young people. PERFORMANCE Promotional Video from THE YOUNG AMERICANS on Vimeo. This is a highly collaborative project involving singing, dancing, and performance.  The Young Americans are renowned for bringing out the best in the young people they work with and work very closely with the students. It is not just for students who are exceptional performers, all are welcome and it is a great confidence builder for young people. The workshops from Friday to Sunday culminate in a 2-hour concert on the Sunday evening featuring the participants of the workshops performing alongside The Young Americans. The performance is the end result, with the core of the workshop focused on ‘providing experiences and tools for students that yield individual, personal growth and understanding.’ Any student wishing to participate needs to collect a letter from  the Student Support Centre or Ms Kemp or Ms Day.
