We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced SENDCO to join our team with a passion for working with young people to ensure they receive the education they deserve.
You will be an exemplary practitioner with a proven record of expertise in Special Educational Needs. You will bring a wealth of experience of working with young people with a range of additional needs and will have an excellent understanding of the SEN Code of Practice.
You will support the strategic direction and development of SEND provision across our College. You will inspire a team of teaching assistants to ensure that our students with additional needs have full access to the curriculum and create a culture where collaborative learning is highly valued. Your role will be pivotal in liaising with parents and outside professionals, especially as the role entails having overall responsibility for the quality of the annual review process and ensuring outcomes from Education Health and Care Plans are planned for and met.
Administrative responsibilities of the role are significant but ably supported by a strong team. You will need great organisation and time-management skills to balance a busy and varied workload. Duties will include designing and delivering interventions with students in the classroom and implementing the College strategy. You may also have classroom teaching duties.
