Callington Community College

Congratulations to Callington Community College students who have received their GCSE results!

Joy and relief filled the air at Callington Community College today as Year 11 students collected their long-awaited GCSE results.

It was a delight to see so many students rewarded for their hard work and commitment during their time at the College. We are pleased to report some sensational results with 2 students scoring a Grade 7 or above in all subjects (Annabelle Early and Jacob Thomas-Hegarty). This sort of achievement takes an enormous amount of hard work and commitment and is especially impressive during a period of significant change in the examination system. Nationally 732 students secured 7 or more grade 9s – congratulations to Annabelle who joins this group of top achieving students. Keeping it in the family, Thomas Early (in Year 9) has secured an A^ in GCSE Further Maths. Well done!

Across all subjects we are pleased to report 43 Grade 9s. This is the highest grade possible in the new system for GCSEs. There were some excellent individual successes including Tamar Hearne, Leah J, Amber Lazenbury, Poppy O, Matthew S and Jack L. These results are richly deserved. Our students have worked with great determination and focus in order to achieve these fantastic outcomes.

Whilst acknowledging the enormous achievements of the most able is important, what gives us the greatest pleasure is the consistent progress that our students make - notable, is the progress of Sebastian O, Matthew D, Katherine W and Daniel R.

These achievements allow our students to follow the path of their choice, whether that be into further education, apprenticeships or other vocational training. Even more impressive is the fact these results come on the back of our super A-Level outcomes last week – we are so proud of all involved and look forward to many of our students joining our Sixth Form and will continue to support them through their A-Level programmes.

We are immensely proud of our students and their achievements. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our talented and dedicated staff, as well as our parents, for their continued support. Our achievements are a real team effort and should be enjoyed by all of our community.”

We wish all our students good luck with their future plans.
